Sementes da Fé UK is an independent editorial portal that explains money and work in plain English. We cover personal loans, credit cards, financial apps, insurance and job opportunities, and we write for people who want to understand a product before signing anything — not for specialists.
Why we exist
Financial information is usually written either as marketing or as legal text. Both are hard to act on. Our aim is the middle ground: what a product actually is, who it suits, what it costs, what the requirements are, and where to check the current terms at the source. If a product is a bad idea for most people, we say so.
What we publish
- Loans — how each type works, what affects approval, what to compare beyond the headline rate, and the risks of borrowing to cover recurring costs.
- Credit cards — annual fees, interest, rewards, balance transfers and the traps in “no fee” offers.
- Financial apps — what each one does, what it charges and how it protects your data.
- Insurance — what is covered, what is excluded and how to read a policy summary.
- Job opportunities — where vacancies are published, how selection processes work and how to prepare an application.
How we produce each article
- Source first. We start from the provider’s own documentation, official regulators and public statistics, not from other blogs.
- Figures with a date. Rates, fees and limits are recorded with the date we checked them, because they change often.
- Plain language. Jargon is either explained or removed.
- Review before publishing. Every text is read by a second person for accuracy and clarity.
- Correction on request. If a reader or an institution shows us an error, we fix it and note the change.
What we are not
We are not a bank, a lender, a broker, a credit intermediary, an insurer or an employment agency, and we are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We do not receive applications, we do not assess eligibility and we do not approve credit. Reading us is free, and we never ask for payment, upfront fees or card details. Everything we publish is general information, not a personal recommendation — for advice on your own circumstances, speak to an authorised adviser.
How the site pays for itself
Advertising keeps the content free. We also use commercial links in some articles, which may earn us a commission when a reader completes an action. That relationship never decides what we cover or how we assess a product, and it never adds a cost to you. Where a link is commercial, our editorial judgement stays the same as if it were not.
